Mud, mud, mud
“I missed the ice cream truck”
We found this note tacked to the front door when we arrived the day after Barbara visited us…her thank you note to us
The recipient of our fundraising and our labor - Barbara, who said she couldn’t believe anyone would do this for her
We close the doors to the storage pod and reluctantly leave our work site…but are happy and satisfied with the work we did.
John wrote a song about being in New Orleans and performed it for us as we wrapped up the final cleanup.
Barbara’s house has nine rooms and this is the front living room (there are two front rooms since it is an opened-up double shotgun). When we arrived all rooms except for the dining area and part of a hallway that had drywall hung. Some of the rooms had some mudding & taping done, but the work we did completed all drywall hanging, mudding, sanding and taping. We also tiled the laundry room. In 5 days we finished all the rooms. They are ready for painting now and the kitchen appliances we purchased for Barbara can be installed.
The final tile work in the laundry room, ready for grout by the next group to come -looks great Lis & Barbie!
Dean makes one last trek up the front steps after cleaning knives and trays in the buckets of water in the front yard
Let’s see if she slices off a finger…
